PID Treatment

Treating PID

Treatment for pelvic inflammatory disease usually involves a healthcare provider who administer antibiotics in order to eradicate the infection.

Natural remedies for infection and inflammation include baking soda and garlic (Clinic, 2015). According to Earth Clinic (2015) baking soda effectively alkalizes the body which eliminates infection. Garlic is well known as an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent.

Garlic contains allicin which is the active compound that serves as an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent (Jamison, 2003). Allicin is a sulfur containing amino acid which is released when the allin is exposed to the enzyme allinase which converts the allin into allicin, this occurs when the garlic is crushed or chewed (Jamison, 2003).

Adding garlic and baking soda to the treatment plan should alleviate symptoms and help to eradicate the infection.
